In 2023, looking to get our hands on something a bit more high speed than our respective API class patches, a few P-8 and Romeo pals stationed in Jax made a parody of the popular 1000 Airframe Hours patch, featuring our favorite watering hole at the beach, Pete's Bar.

We spent our days in the FRS serendipitously bonding with likeminded instructors who frequented Pete's, while being bombarded by other beach-going studs looking to get their hands on the patch. We wanted to keep the patch exclusive, only giving it out to aviators who lived at the beach and had earned "1000" hours at Pete's. We had the patch proudly hung up behind the bar, which was promptly stolen by some helo student on his first time in a 21+ establishment, and a crude attempt was made to copy and sell the patch.  Such an offense from the rotor community could not go unanswered, so we decided to test our marketing chops and start selling the patches ourselves. Thus PC Patches was born.

Seeing the success of the Pete's patch, we realized there was a large part of the Naval Aviation community yearning for humorous designs that blended our love of flying, partying, and philandering. We looked to past generations of Naval Aviators for inspiration, and what we found shocked us. For nearly a century since the inception of Naval Aviation, these witty, crude, and often ridiculously inappropriate designs dominated the fleet. These weren’t just clandestine designs made by a few class clowns, but detachment, deployment, and even official squadron patches that were seen and loved by all.

Our mission became clear in that instant; to make patches that carry on the legacy and culture of Naval Aviation. While times and sensibilities have certainly changed, the renegade, adventurous spirit of military aviators has most assuredly stayed the same. Our goal is to amplify the voices of aviators and foster more connection inside the walls of the squadron through our patches.
